QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED PROFESSOR
a) A Ph.D. in the relevant fields from recognized Universities.
b) At least ten (10) years of teaching and research experience in a university or an institution of University standing.
c) Evidence of reasonable scholarly publications, in reputable national and international journals and or books issued by reputable publishers.
d) Ability to initiate, develop and supervise research projects and evidence of teaching ability.
e) Must possess some administrative experience and ability to provide both academic and administrative leadership.
f) Experience in working with interdisciplinary groups
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/READER
Same as for Professor but with at least eight years relevant and teaching experience in a University system or an institution of University standing.
SENIOR LECTURER
Same as Professor’s qualification but with at least six (6) years teaching and research experience in a University system or an institution.
LECTURER I
A Ph.D degree from a recognized University in the relevant discipline with not less than three (3) years teaching and research experience in the University system or an institution of University standing. Some scholarly publications in reputable journals are required.
LECTURER II
(i) A higher degree, preferably a Ph.D degree in the relevant discipline.
(ii) Some Scholarly publications in reputable journals will enhance the prospect of candidates
(iii) A Masters Degree with three (3) years teaching experience in University system or a Masters Degree with two (2) years teaching experience in a University system or an institution of University standing with one published journal article.
ASSISTANT LECTURER
Normally an M.Sc degree after a good honors degree,
SENIOR LIBRARIAN
Candidates must posses a minimum degree of Second Class Hons. Masters degree in Library Of Masters in relevant area PLUS: 3 journal publications and eight ( years post qualification, relevant working experience in any department or a university Library or an institution of University standing
LIBRARIAN I
Same as for Senior Librarian but one (1) journal article publication and six (6) years post qualification relevant experience in a University Library or an institution standing,
LIBRARIAN II
Same as for Senior Librarian but with at least three (3) years post qualification experience in a University Library or an institution of University standing.
LIBRARY OFFICER
Candidates must possess diploma in Library Studies plus/three (3) years Post Qualification experience in a University Library or an institution of University standing.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Western Delta University scale of salaries is as applicable in other Universities in Nigeria. Successful candidates will be confirmed. The University will operate the prevailing Pension Scheme in Nigerian Universities.
