The Position: CITY OFFICE IT SPECIALIST
Under general supervision of the City Office Manager, this position maintains the security and integrity of all IT systems, utilizing user access controls, virus protection mechanisms, system-usage monitoring in the City Office and also troubleshooting.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Establish and maintain network user accounts, user environment, directories and security.
• Create and maintain IT Standard Operation Procedures for the City Office.
• Develop and run daily production reports.
• Coordinate all on-line learning for the City Office staff.
• Train and monitor the IT skills of City Office staff, especially in Sparcs, Express and Navision.
• Respond to the needs and questions of users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programmes.
• Install and test software upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and communicate downtime (both IT and power) to users.
• Ensure all software versions are up-to-date where applicable.

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• B.Sc. Degree in IT or science related discipline;
• Experience in implementing local area networks’ systems integration and administration.
• Ability to train others in IT skills, run classes and monitor development.
• Substantial knowledge about computer hardware configurations for UNIX, Win 2003, Cisco and Oracle environments and Microsoft products.

- Assist others, particularly Group HR Manager and UK HR Manager in the preparation of presentations, this includes gathering of data and PowerPoint presentations

- Oversee payrolls in each territory to ensure this conforms to satisfactory obligations and where the HRIS system can be used

- Providing back up support for the UK payroll.

- Coordinate the provision of salary data from each territory

- Assisting with salary surveys as required.

Provide First Line Maintenance/Intervention also for Backbone Sites, Transmission Hub Sites, and Satellite Hub Sites within the respective sub-region and ensure that all un-resolved transmission fault are promptly escalated to the Transmission Networks Department for resolution. Sending faulty network equipment/units for repairs and keeping a record of spare stock for the sub-region.
Responsible for configuring and resolving all BSS external alarms systems
Maintaining the Installation Database and Site Records
Take responsibility for the monitoring all maintenance contractors in all Celtel sites within the sub-region and shall ensure that the contractors adhere to Celtel safety and quality standards.
Shall be responsible for taking delivery of diesel as well as the monitoring of diesel consumption on each site providing report accordingly to the Facilities & Services Management department which is responsible for diesel supply coordination.
