Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority needs Regional Airworthiness Inspector. Such an individual must have the following qualifications:
1. University degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering with aircraft maintenance engineering license or its equivalent recognized professional qualification, preferably on maintenance of large modern Aircraft.
2. Experience at a senior supervisory level of Governmental regulastory practices in air worthiness administration, certification, inspection and approval of such organizations.
3. Practical Working experience in an airline or approved maintenance organization following Governmental procedures relating to the inspection and approval of such organizations.
4. Experienced in the preparation, approval and use of Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and other appropriate aircraft engineering documentation, Sound knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and related documentation.
5. Good command of English Language and proven ability in preparing inspection reports and similar documents. Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese would be an asset.
6. Proficient in technical writing, Initiative, tact, sound judgment and an ability to maintain harmonious relationship.
Such an Individual will be responsible for:
• The development of generic Airworthiness Regulations for use/adaptation in BAG Member States.
• Preparation and provision of detailed and state specific recommendations on the requirements of regulations, practices and procedures for Airworthiness of Aircraft and personnel licensing.
• Assistance to states in the development or modification of their regulations for the airworthiness of Aircraft and personnel licensing.
• Preparation of generic procedural manuals on Airworthiness of Aircraft and personnel licensing.
• Development of administrative procedures for providing on-demand certification and surveillance tasks in States amongst others.
Only candidates from BAG member states should apply; Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
The salary level goes thus:
Special Service Agreement (SSA) Contract for US$4,670 per month plus 20% allowance if the expert is not from Abuja, plus child allowance of US$40 per month up to a maximum of two children plus travel for expert only.
