Job Title Senior Manager, Procurement

Job Description:
* Plan, direct and manage the central procurement activities of the company with supervision from the GM, Procurement & Support Services
* Develop, implement and review new or improved policies, procedures and processes to maintain economy and efficiency of procurement operations
* Create and deliver supply strategies including supply base rationalization
* Develop a portfolio of suppliers in line with the requirements of the company
* Set up guidelines and procedures to initiate tenders and contracts
* Oversee the preparation of tender documents, contracts/agreements process and supplier performance management
* Authorize tender proposals and specifications
* Present tender evaluations for Management Committee consideration and approval
* Interpret contract provisions and review contracts for accuracy and changes prior to execution or renewal
* Continually benchmark the cost and quality of current suppliers with industry levels
* Reduce cost of operations through effective and efficient sourcing without compromising quality
* Develop initiatives aligning the company’s procurement activities with Public sector local content development policies
Job Conditions: Standard working conditions Extra hours may be needed
Reporting To: General Manager, Procurement & Support Services
Required Skills:
* Minimum of 10 years relevant experience of which 5 years in managing the procurement function of a reputable organisation
* Experience in contract administration and contract writing
Employment Status : Permanent
Qualification: A bachelor's degree or HND equivalent
